I have some very sad news

A follow up to our original post on Blackie and Little Jim, 2 of the 3 kittens burned by some very cruel person. (The 1st kitten was euthanized immediately.)

IMG_0171

I am very sad to report that today's paper reports that Little Jim has also succumbed to his burn injuries. He had been taken to The University of Florida for skin grafts. Little Jim is now at the bridge. Grayson and I know you are in very good paws now, Little Jim, and we know that many cats and dogs are rejoicing to see you all well and happy again.

I am very glad that the paper says that Blackie is expected to make a full recovery! I hope you live a life of health, happiness, and enjoy every delight and luxury that can be afforded to a kitty, Blackie! Grayson and I will keep you in our purrs.

Both the Brooks County Sheriff’s Office and the Humane Society of the United States are offering rewards for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the burning of the cats.

The Humane Society is offering up to $2,500 for information.

Grayson and I sure hope they find the guilty party.

52 friends chimed in...:

  1. Poor little kitty, but at least now, he is feeling no pain across the bridge. I hope they find out who did this.

  3. This just makes me sick to my stomach, and what is even worse is the inhumane idiots that did this will get a slap on the hand, there is just no justice anymore in the world today, it's sickening. God bless them and they are in a much, much better place now and they are finally happy and care free.

We pray the person(s) responsible for this merciless, monstrous act are found and punished to the full extent of the law.

  6. I cannot fathom the mind and heart behind such evil cruelty. I'm thankful for Blackie's recovery and for the absence of pain and suffering and fear for Little Jim.

  7. Evil should be punished with the
    same crime we think..
Perhaps the asshat that committed this crime, would benefit from the same act..

Sigh.. or is at least caught and
    punished.

We are glad that Little Jim is at peace now, and that his last hours were in the hands of loving people.

If we said what we wanted to about the hateful ones that did this, we would be into some bad words. There is a special, painful place waiting for them, so we won't say anything.

  45. Thank you for the update although I wish the news was different. Even though I've had time to digest this horrific thing that someone did to these kittens, I just still cannot believe someone can be so heartless. It is a state of mind I can't even begin to comprehend and I hope the person(s) are caught and punished severely.
