Some of you may remember our friend Puggles and his Daddy Mike.
Mike is one of Mom’s very dear friends. He was wounded in Baghdad, Iraq about 4 years ago. Mike had a sweet English Bulldog named LaLa. Lala was born with a congenital heart defect and when she was about 2 years old, Lala had to go to the Bridge. Mike was about as sad as a person could be so last April Mike got a new English Bulldog puppy that he named Puggles. We posted about him here a year ago April.
Look at Puggles then and now! What a difference a year makes!
Puggles has just about completed all his Service Dog Training, except for the hardest part… he might have to go away for 6 months unless they approve the special application Mike’s wife Peggy filled out. It will be too much of a hardship on Mike to have Puggles gone so long, because he is also Mike's Companion Dog, so they may approve a personal trainer locally for Puggles.
We have never akshully met Puggles face to face, but we smell him every day when Mom comes home from work. We think he’s a pretty OK woofie, so we’re keeping our paws crossed for Mike and Puggles!

PS. Do you know what Puggles is really, really good at? Slobber! Boy, is he ever good at slobbering! Wow! You know someone is a true animal lover when they don’t seem to notice or mind Puggles Slobber! :-D
What a nice post the two of you did for Puggles. I'm very impressed.
ReplyDeleteHave a purrfect day. Big hug to Barb. :)
He looks like a good slobbery dog. And not the kind who would chase cats either...
ReplyDeleteThat is one cute dog! I hope he gets his training certificate!

ReplyDeleteWe want to thank Mike for his service for our freedom. We are sorry that he was wounded but glad he survived. We hope Mikes wife gets a personal trainer for this special little Puggles! We know Mike misses Lala and how hard it would be for him and Puggles to be apart for 6 months!
ReplyDeletewow what a good dog! that is funny his name is puggles. :) thanks mike for serving.
ReplyDeletePuggles sounds like a pretty special woofie, but he can keep all that slobbering to himself.
ReplyDeletePuggles is really adorable! I hope it works out so he can stay home for his training - it sounds like he and his dad really need to be together.
ReplyDeleteWe're sending purrs and good thoughts to Puggles and family.
After all he has done for your country, we are purring that the application is approved. It is wonderful that Puggles and Mike have chosen for Puggles to train as a service animal. What a great way to help others:)

Puggles is cute and has grown a lot. We hope he gets trained locally.
ReplyDeleteI've been seeing a lot of dog pictures lately. I've never met a dog, but Puggles looks like he'd be fun to play with.
ReplyDeleteWe are purring they approve the special application. We would hate to be away from our Mommy and Daddy for 6 months. Puggles looks like he will make a wonderful service dog for his Dad Mike. ~S,S,C & F
ReplyDeleteIt's good that Puggles will be able to something other than just slobber! He will be very helpful to his Daddy when his service training is done and we hope he can get his training close to home, which would be best for all concerned.

an' our mom's second woofie, licorice, was known as "the puggle" acause she was poodle & beagle, which they figgered made "poogle", an' then it got changed to "puggle".

and of course Thor and Marco Polo
Puggles is adorable!
ReplyDeleteenglish bulldog puppies are the cutest in the world! However, we don't think we'd do well with the slobber! Benny drips water like a small fountain off his beard- we call him the squid!
ReplyDeletePuggles is such a cutie! It is wonderful that he is such great help and comfort to Mike. We hope they find a way so he doesn't have to be away from Mike for so long.
ReplyDeleteWe sure hope dey approve da speshul applikashun fur dem. Puggles reminded mom of da last woofie our gramma hadded, a brindle English Bulldog named Molly who was left in a garbage dump by someone who was just a big meanie. Dey called our uncle and he took Molly to our gramma. She was also known as da "slobber hound". She made weerd noises when she ate and snored when she slept...and broke effuryones heart when she went to da Bridge.
