Photo Hunt: Hands

This week the photo hunt prompt is hands! One of the things we do in our family has a lot to do with hands! This is Mom's nephew, Mike. We sometimes call him Piano Man. Mike also plays guitar. He is multi-talented. And very funny. A little known fact about Mike is that he can also catch about 22 marshmallows is his mouth at one time. He use to practice that a lot when he was trying out for Blue Man Group. He did not get picked though. Mike is akshully a Music Teacher for kids in grades 1-5. He's an awesome teacher!

Wordy Wednesday Challenge 2009

Ann, the fabulously creative Zoolatry Human, made bunches of graphics for lots of us in the Cat Blogosphere! Stop by Zoolatry today to see lots more! Thank you, Ann! We love your graphics! You always make us look great!

Our Mission, if we chose to accept it, was to choose one word for Wordy Wednesday to describe ourselves. Just one word. Now really, how is that Wordy?

Gandalf can be described many ways, but this comes up most often.

Grayson is very floofy, so his loosely translated word is German for floofy!

Because of the "ugly girl" comments yesterday, here is what the German to English Dictionary says about flauchie/flauchieg:
fuzzy {adj}
cottony {adj}
fluffy {adj} [fabrics]
textil. fleecy {adj}
textil. loosely woven {adj}

Grayson: I am floofy, not an ugly girl!

Gandalf: Really? Well I think that maybe you are loosely woven. hahaha

The Story of Bailey and Gracie

Once upon a time in the land of the Yellow House in the Orchard there lived two fabulously gray Mancats named Gandalf and Grayson. They lived in a Pecan Orchard with pretty gardens and lovely breezes rustling through their pecan trees. They also had their very own singing birdies, rude lizards and evil squirrels to hunt every day. Everybuddy in the land gave their undivided attention to The Gray Boys, practically falling all over themselves to wait on the gorgeous gray Mancats.

Life was good!

Then one overcast, cloudy fall day their Mom brought home two rambunctious, and quite precocious, Black Lab puppies named Bailey and Gracie.

It only took about two nanoseconds before Bailey and Gracie stoled all of Gandalf and Grayson's Mom and Nana and Grampy's time and attention for themselves! Those pesky puppies used some kind of horrible black magic on their Mom and turned her into a wicked step-mother! Those puppies even cast a spell over their Nana and Grampy, too. All of a sudden, everybuddy was loving on those puppies, spending lots of time with them, and tossing them toys. They even tossed them some of Gandalf and Grayson's favorite mousies! The nerve! In between they were trying to teach Bailey and Gracie to sit, stay, shake and to not potty on the floor! Aaack!

The Gray Boys knew they needed to put a plan together fast to rescue their Mom from those rascally pups! This called for drastic measures! First, The Gray Boys stopped sleeping in the sleeping room. Then they refused to get in their Mom's wicked step-mother's lap anymore.

They thought their plan was working but then one night Gandalf and Grayson overheard their Mom wicked step-mother telling their Nana and Grampy that she would give The Gray Boys a little more time to get used to the puppies.

Ha! That will be the day! thought The Gray Boys, and they kicked their plan up a notch. They started using Nana's couch as a Hidey Hole. They wouldn't come anymore when their Mom wicked step-mother called for them. They even stopped eating and refused their Temptations, their most favorite treat of all!

By the evening of the 5th day, their Mom wicked step-mother started getting very, very sad because she hadn't even been able to touch The Gray Boys in several days.

On the morning of the 7th day their Mom wicked step-mother was crying. Then Gandalf and Grayson saw their Mom wicked step-mother loading Bailey and Gracie into the kennels and then into the car!

As Gandalf and Grayson watched the car pull away they wondered if their plan had worked, or had their Mom wicked step-mother merely taken Bailey and Gracie to the Vet?

Gandalf and Grayson watched hopefully out the window until they saw the car pull back into the driveway. They held their breath. Then they saw something wonderful! No pesky puppies! Their wicked step-mother was gone! Their Mom was back!

Life is good again!

The End.

Meanwhile, back at the Hidey Hole...

As seen from the patio the other night...

It's a brand new batch of baby Evil Squirrels!

There are 4 of them, but Mom couldn't get her camera out quickly enough before the 4th baby squirrel went back into the Hidey Hole.

And here is a video we couldn't help but share. We will SO NOT be doing this!

And what is with all that flea flicking? We hope the Mama cat and kittens get Revolution!

You may have to click to embiggen the photo and collage in order to properly assess the situation. We are using blogger to post again so our Auntie Bee can see our our handsome faces, so that means smaller photos.

Happy Hunting from The Gray Boys!

SMRT

Mom spent almost 2 hours on the phone last night with Dish Network "Advanced Tech Support" because one of the new Smart Cards that came in the mail was no so Smart. It was only SMRT. She lost her good humor somewhere after the first hour. Me and Grayson akshully saw it leave!

But I'm still kyoot, so I'm helping put her back in good humor and trying to make her forget that she didn't help us visit anybuddy, she didn't do any Facebook at all, she didn't talk to her sisters and she missed American Idol. How'm I doin'?

♫ Ba da, da da, da da, da...Feelin' Groovy! ♫

PS: Is anybuddy else not having their scheduled posts publish? We think we are being picked on by Blogger BIG time.

Top O' the Mornin' to ya

IMG_0615_cr

Gandalf the Lucky Leprechan has been hearing a lot about green Mother's Milk and that lucky Irish Pot O' Gold Catnip. He's set out on an Irish adventure to see if he could find some!

Mothers Milk 031709

Mmmm. Mother's Milk is very tasty!

Gandalf the Lucky Leprechaun reminds everybuddy to partake in Mother's Milk and Pot O' Gold Catnip responsibly. He would feel quite badly if he were to find out that anybuddy hurled or got a nip hang over... 'Course, not as badly as the ones overindulging will feel!

We are very sorry we have not been visiting much. Mom has been coming home very lazy tired from work. We will try to make Mom stay up later and help us more.

Happy St. Patrick's Day, everybuddy!

PS. Mom has a video featuring yours truly, Grayson, Mama Goose, Feather and Mom her blog today!

Fun in Florida

This was one of the last times we were all Outside together before we all moved to The Deep South, Georgia. Ah! Good Times!

Fun in Florida

Somebuddy kept scaling the fence and wouldn't stay in the yard and went and ruined it for all of us! (We won't say who it was, but their names might rhyme with DooDoo and Grandalf.)

♫ Brandy, you're a fine girl ♫

Mom was going through some old photos that she found in a folder other than My Pictures. We do not know why the photos were living in that folder but there they were! Mom was very smiley when she saw this one.

This is Brandy. Mom got Brandy somewhere around 1978. Mom had 2 dogs at the time, Kahuna and Penny. Kahuna was a husky-shepherd mix and Penny was a tiny white and orinch terrier mix. Kahuna and Penny were like Mutt and Jeff: a giant woofie and a tiny woofie, and they were inseparable.

One terrible day, Penny dug a hole under the fence and was hit by a car. Kahuna was absolutely inconsolable for about a month. She kept roaming around looking for Penny everywhere and whimpering all the time. Mom decided to bring home a puppy for Kahuna. That puppy was Brandy.

Mom drove out to a farm and looked at some 5-week old pups. Brandy's Mama doggie was a full-blooded Black Shepherd and her Daddy doggie was a full-blooded Irish Setter. Mom says she's not sure just what she expected the puppies to look like, but it certainly wasn't anything like Brandy! Brandy's furs were all wiry and rough -nothing like either of her parents! And that big nose! It barely fit on her face!

Brandy was the sweetest dog anyone could ask for. She preferred to be outside in the yard or her dog house, unless there was thunder boomies anywhere in the vicinity. Then Brandy had to be in Mom's lap, all the while whimpering and kissing Mom's face until the thunder boomies stopped. Brandy was 68 pounds. NOT GOOD! :-D

After Kahuna died, Mom had to get Brandy a puppy. But that's a story for another day! Brandy lived a long and happy life with Mom! She was never sick a single day in her life of 17 years! Then one day she just fell asleep under Mom's Mr. X's truck and never woke up.

We know we will get to meet Brandy one day! Mom says she will be there to greet us at the Bridge with a big smiley face and her whole body wagging!
