Thank You All!
Mom took Whitey to the Swamp yesterday thinking that might help calm Grayson and give Gandalf a grooming break... and then she brought him home again. He was miserable there without his BrOTHERS. And Mom was even more miserable seeing him like that, not at all like his old sweet self.
We want to thank each and every one of you for your all of the suggestions, tips, links, hugs and prayers. We plan to use each and every one of them until we figure it all out! The Cat Blogosphere is such an AWESOME community, one that we are very grateful to be included in.
Since Mom is too busy to help us blog much with no internet at home we thought we would Thank You all here. THANK YOU!
Things are gearing up for the big move, perhaps as soon as a few weeks, weather permitting! We sure do miss blogging and visiting every day. Mom reads us as many of your posts as she can on her iPhone every morning. She finally figured out how to load the blogger blogs in mobile mode yesterday, which helps A LOT! They take forever to load, especially when there are lots of gadgets. Commenting is still near impossible, but at least we can see what you all are up to!
We'll keep you posted on any significant developments, what we're trying and how things are coming along. Thanks so much, everybuddy!

Oh poor Whitey to be so lonely! I hate being alone even if Gemini does not like me all that much. We hope that things get sorted out.
ReplyDeleteI really hope you can work out these dramas. I have my paws crossed for you!
ReplyDeleteHang in there! We're sure you'll figure it out and everyone will be happy.
ReplyDeleteIt occurs to us that all the preparations for the move may be upsetting Grayson. For some reason us cats don't seem to like change. We are still trying to decide if we likes what the beans did to our laundry room. ~AFSS
ReplyDeleteWe will be purring for you all!!
ReplyDeleteWe hope you're able to find a solultion that works for you!! (((hugs)))
ReplyDeleteWe are purring for something to work so they can all be happy together.
ReplyDeleteGoodness gracious! The move! Good call by Alasandra! She may have found what really is upsetting the boys.
ReplyDeleteAre you packing things? Do they see their home being disrupted? Could Grayson be reacting to all the changes in his home and become fearful of loosing it (thus marking everywhere)? Maybe a bit of Prozac, short term, could ease his anxiety.
Such sweet boys! We will purr really hard for everything to settle down soon. They do probably sense you are planning a move even if you haven't packed everything up yet...us cats can read minds you know!
ReplyDeleteBig purrs and nose kisses to Whitey ::blush:: and also to Gandalf, Grayson and Gracie cause I love you all.
xoxo Cory
We are purring here for all the kitties to get along and the peeing where Gandalf shouldn't pee stops. Perhaps it is the move perhaps it is a combination of Whitey and the move, hopefully things will settle down once the move is done.
ReplyDeleteYes, we agree that Alasandra may have hit on the root of the problem...the disruption and anxiety from the humans about the impending move! Poor Whitey to miss his brOthers so much...glad that you brought him back home. (By the way, we can barely read your black text on dark gray background...don't know if it's our aging eyes, aging computer monitor, or the settings in your blog?)
ReplyDeleteyep, we were just going to say that the move is probably the biggest upset factor. not that it can be helped. Before us, the mom and the dad moved several times with Trixie, Norton and Ralph and it was drama and trauma all the time. Spraying (mostly by Norton and sometimes by Trixie!) was extremely common as were the fights all the time. They did usually stop after the trauma of the moves.
ReplyDeleteAlso, the litter thing - when the mom changed us to the Breeze boxes, billy HATED them and peed on the bed several times a day. Once she caught onto that (she's really slow) and changed back, Billy has not peed or sprayed anywhere.
We hopes that you can work it all out very soon!
We hope that things settle down soon - we think that Alasandra could be right - maybe the move prep is not 100% the issue, but it may be adding to the stress for all the kitties. We are keeping our fingers and paws crossed that you find a solution!
ReplyDeleteWe will be purring that once you are all moved...all will settle down!
ReplyDeleteWe are really hoping that it werks owt for yoo all ~ 'cos we love all the Gs (including G-Whitey).
ReplyDeleteMilo and Alfie xx

ReplyDeleteThe G-men look so good together, we hope they get along that well soon.
ReplyDeleteWe really hope everything works out!!!
ReplyDeleteWe are purring for everything to work out!
ReplyDeleteWe hope everything works out too, we love your sweet family and hope nobuddy has to move out.

I wonder if putting a little white vinegar on the head of the object of Whitey's affection might help☺ Worth a try! I'd just a little cotton ball. Don't think you would have to use much. Talk to your vet. He may have something, too, that would deter all of the grooming on Whitey's favorite brofur.
ReplyDeleteAs for the marking - for cleaning use a mixture of white vinegar, water and baking soda. The water and baking soda ratio is 4 water to 1 vinegar and 1 soda.
Also, put a little Rescue Remedy on a bandanna and put it around our little marker's neck or collar.
Maybe if you do all three at once you may see a change and possibly MORE litter boxes. Maybe sharing is not a good thing for some kitties. At one time in my house I had five boxes for four cats.
Hope some of this helps...
Oh, and one last thought. Cats don't like wet paws. I'd place plastic wrap on all of the chair cushions when the chairs are not being used. Something that is easy to take off and put on again...
