Bless her little heart! Her baby leg is just a jumble of bones. It made Momma cry all over again to see it.
So to see something cuter and sweeter we decided to post Gracie's pictures from then. She was only 3-4 weeks old in November, by the Vet's best guess-timate.
This one was taken when she got back from the Vet's on Nov 20th 2009:

And Mom made this collage from some of the photos she took the day before Thanksgiving, Nov 25th 2009:

And this is now!

We were planning to use this photo for her Glamor Puss Saturday but we simply could not wait after seeing that X-ray.
Mom is beginning to think it may not be broken because she has started to let it touch the floor. She's not putting her weight on it; she's just using it more for balance. Two days ago she was trying to squeeze herself into a basket on Mom's desk and she did use it to push.
She is doing MUCH better. Mom was not seeing any indication of pain so she has not had any pain meds in a few days. She's been buzzing around on 3 legs chasing her mousies just like there was nothing wrong.
And she headrubbed Whitey this morning! Awwwwww!
Poor Gracie, you are such a tough little sweetheart!!...We are so glad you have a loving home with people who will do the best for you and we're really glad to hear you are feeling better, you gorgeous girl...We love you, Gracie girl and purr loudly for your continued recovery...xo...Calle,Halle,Sukki
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, bless her little baby heart! Is there any idea as to what caused the jumble of bones? It makes mom leaky eyed too because Gracie reminds her of me when my 2 legs were unusable, back before my surgeries. We pray Gracie makes a wonderful recovery and she will get to keep her special leg. So glad to hear she is doing much better, that is wonderful news.

Oh, that x-ray gives me the shivers, and not in a good way. Gracie is very, very fortunate to have you, as many thoughtless and uncaring people would have had her pts, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteAnd here she is, so adorable, doing well and recovering--paws and fingers crossed.
Continuing to send purrs and healing Light. Give her a kitty kiss from all of us!
Poor little baby!!!We are so glad she found a wonderful home and to hear she is dong much better now!

ReplyDeletePoor baby! What a terrible mess her special leg was. She must have been in agony with it. We are very glad she is improving and appears pain free. We are purring for her continued improvement.
ReplyDeleteThat x-ray made my eyes watery, too. It must have been a terrible trauma to cause those flexible little baby bones to break like that. I'm so glad Gracie is feeling better now.
ReplyDeleteThis made my Mommy cry for sweet Gracie.

ReplyDeletePoor Gracie. God Bless Her. One of my Beloved kitty Smudge broke his leg real bad some years ago. It took a long time to heal. I can't imagine what you went through. That was just an awful break poor Gracie had. I hope all is well now though.
