Thank you for all your purrs! They are helping me a lot! Momma only had to give me my pain meds once yesterday when we went to bed and, so far, not at all today. I am not hollering and growly like I was yesterday and the night before. I am purring and playing with my Pink mousie!
I convinced Momma to let me OUT of my crate. First of all, I really do NOT like it in there and I flail around and scream to get OUT. I dump my water. I machine paw ALL of my litter all over the place. Then, to finally convince her, I started trying to climb the grid. She thought I would hurt myself worse in there, so she finally let me OUT! I can be very single-minded when I want to be!
Now that I am OUT I am being a very good girl. I am not trying to climb any furniture, which is what Dr. Tad was trying to prevent when he suggested the crate.
Momma has warned me that if I climb ANYTHING, it's right back in the crate I go!
Somebuddy asked yesterday if amputation was still a possibility. Yes, it is. It all depends on how my Special Leg heals and whether or not I will begin to use it again. I am purring that I will be able to keep my Special Leg, but if I can't I already know how to run around on 3 legs real good! And I know I can still be a Glamor Puss, no matter how many legs I have.
In other news, yesterday, Momma had some trouble from Whitey and Gandalf, so they are back in her office until they can behave again. They both marked on the patio door. Momma was very sad about that since they had done so well for 2 whole weeks.
Grayson is a perfect angel and he has been very sweet to me! We did nose bonkies and head rubs! I think he knows I was hurting. He's such a good boy!

We're very glad to hear that Grayson is being sweet to you, Sweet Gracie. We would be too if we were there with you!
ReplyDeleteYour reaction to the crate reminds #1 of Tommy who did a real demolition job on the crate furnishings the second night he was in it, and he has not been back in it since. He promised #1 he would be a good boy and he always has been!
We are crossing all of our paws that your special leg heals well and will be able to stay with you.
Oh yes, the dreaded crate! I know it all too well and I hated every minute of it! I acted very similar to you, Gracie, that is why mom put me in my special soft carrier and brought me to work with her for a month straight until my special knees healed. We think it's smart for your mom to let you out so you can't hurt yourself further. My daddy built me steps up to the big bed and some of the furniture to keep me from jumping. We still have the steps and I still use them. Has the vet suggested anything like Cosequin for you?
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about Whitey and Gandalf taking a step backward. That has to be so frustrating to your mom! We cannot remember, but are they on any special meds? Amitrityline has been a huge help around here for the attacks. I think it may help with other behavioral disorders like marking.
Best of luck to you, sweet girl!!!
XOXO
Maggie May
We are happy to hear that your leg is not hurting you as bad today Gracie. We are glad that you are behaving yourself out of the cage. We don't think we would be very good in one either.
ReplyDeleteIf your special leg doesn't get better, don't be scared if you have to lose it. Mum used to be a veterinary nurse many years ago, and she has seen quite a few amputations, and every cat adapted very quickly, even older ones.
We are still purring for you.
We are so happy to here that Grayson is being sweet to you. He knows you're hurty. The other two most likely smell the V~E~T on you and don't like those smells. That happens at our house when one of us has to go there. We are really purraying furry hard for you that your leg heals on its own! You're a Glamour Gurl regardless!
ReplyDeleteWe are glad to hear that you are feeling stronger today, Gracie girl, and that Grayson is taking care of you.
ReplyDeleteIs it possible that Gandalf and Whitey were responding to the stress of you having a hurty? It must have been a worrying time for you and your mum, and maybe they picked up on it?
Gracie, So glad Grayson is being so sweet to you. Mommy can't keep us cats in crates either we goes wild and Mommy is afraid we will hurts ourselves worse in there. Silly Fenris likes sleeping in his crate and doesn't seem to mind being imprisoned in there. Purrs you are well soon and the leg doesn't hurt anymore.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Gandalf and Whitey messed up because they were worried about you. Purrs they start behaving for your Mom. Scylla marks outside sometimes. Thank Cat she has never marked inside. ~AFSS
feel better sweetie...

we are still purring and purraying, Gracie. We hope you feel lots better ASAP.
ReplyDeleteMama's wondering if maybe all that's going on with you might have caused the marking? Maybe the boys are stressed because you're stressed? Just a thought. But I'm gonna say this to them: Straighten up and fly right, grey boys!
Love,
Tazo
You are totally a glamour girl, Gracie, and always will be. We are so sorry about your special leg, but it's so wonderful to know that your Mom is taking such good care of you. The Boys will settle down..most likely it's due to the stress in the air.
ReplyDeleteGracie honey -we is glad you is doing ok wifout the crate. we hopes that you gets much more better!
ReplyDeleteWe're glad to hear that you are doing a bit better. We're purring for you!!
ReplyDeleteSniffie and the Florida Furkids
Oh, poor Gracie. We looked at your X-rays and we feel so bad! We are glad you don't have to stay in the crate, but hope you won't re-injure your leg. And no matter what happens, you'll still be a real Glamour Puss!
ReplyDeleteLove and purrs from Franklin, Dobby, and Tasha
P.S. Tasha says she is sorry to hear that some of the boys have been bad again. They probably think you are getting too much attention - you know how boys are!
We are crossing our paws and purring loudly for you, Gracie; we sure hope your special leg heals and you are able to keep it...However, you have a great attitude and you are so right=you will always be a glamorous girl, no matter what because you are a beauty, inside and outside!...We're glad to hear Grayson is being so sweet, you need love and support from your brothers right now...Blessings and love to you, sweetheart...xo...Calle, Halle, Sukki
ReplyDeleteDear Gracie we are pleased you are not in the crate - it is horrid to be shut in - but you must not jump and climb. We are pleased Grayson is nice with you - just ignore the Gandalf and Whitey - boys are like that if they're not the centre of attraction.
ReplyDeleteSo glad that you are feeling a bit better Gracie! be careful with your leg so you dont have to go back in the crate!
ReplyDeletewe will keep purring.
ps- it is good that grsyson is taking care of you, he is a good big brother.
sorry to hear that the other boys are being a bit naughty.
Gracie we are glad you are being a good girl and not climbing! We can understand why being in the crate would make you so upset. We are sending you lots of of purrs and prayers for your special leg to be ok very soon! And we are so glad that Grayson is watching over you and being a good big brother.
ReplyDeleteWe are sad that Whitey and Gandalf are in trouble though. We are also thinking that everything going on could have caused the marking at least in part. And maybe (as has happend at our house) a cat did something outide that they can smell but your mom can't - our cat's have sprayed our patio doors for that reason.
Sounds like you are being a good girl Gracie.
ReplyDeleteOne of our friends has a cat with only three legs and it doesn't slow her down much. She still runs and jumps and causes lots of mischief.
We wish you a speedy recovery gorgeous girl.
Oh Gracie, I did not even know you had a special leg!!!!!
ReplyDeletethese xrays show that you have had a lot of trauma. I wish I could give you a hug and a gentle bonk
I am glad that you can come out of the crate. Perhaps mom can find a soft crate without hard things on it for you to stay still and safe. I want you to get all better, Gracie.
I will purrr for you. a lot.
Hi Gracie. You have a very smart Mommy to let you out of the crate when it made you so unhappy. Maybe she will carefully balance your meds...a tiny bit of pain will remind you not to jump and to rest and let your leg heal. Glad your Mommy is o.k. with the idea that amputation might be necessary...and we know you can zoom around on 3 legs just fine, although we hope that won't be necessary. You look totally adorable playing with your pink mousie! About the spraying...we think maybe the boys saw a stranger cat outside the patio.
ReplyDeleteWe're glad yoo are not jumping around and hurting yoorself Gracy. We're glad to hear dat Grayson is being such a good big brofur too. We'll be purring and purraying effury day dat yoo heal up real good.
ReplyDeleteGracie, we're glad you're being a good girl so that you don't hafta be in that crate. That crate doesn't sound like fun at all!
ReplyDeleteBut we're sorry Whitey and Gandalf have had a setback...we hope they start behaving themselves again.
Oh noes...maybe your mewmie could get a Siberian Husky sized tent like us Furrydance kittens have, with a heating pad to be warm and encourage you to lay still and snuggle? And remember, cats hide pain real well, so if you got's bup, by all means, give it as pain slows healing. We gave it to Spot when he had severe pancreatitis and I do think it helped him get better faster...
ReplyDeleteBoy your mom has her hands full at your hosue! we do not likethe crate either so we are hoping you don't have to go back in. Sending lots of purrs for you and for the boys to behave!
ReplyDeleteJust lay quietly, rest and get better, OK!
ReplyDeleteNot in the crate? That is good news. We hope you can resist the temptations of the furniture climb. Just think: napping is fun too. In fact it is the best thing a cat can do.
ReplyDeleteSweet Gracie
ReplyDeleteWe are glad you didn't have to stay in the crate, but listen to your Mom and don't climb on any furniture.
We are keeping our purr motors rev'ed up and hope that your special leg will heal.
purr
Abby
We're happy that you aren't in such pain now Gracie and we hope you stay nice and chilled whilst you rest that special leg.
ReplyDeleteIf your Mom could get some Feliway in spray form, spray it at cat head height on all the door frames and windows that all the cats use, that might help with any security issue based marking at those spots.
WW
PS: ...and what Teri said about the Bup - we cats are damn stoic about pain (survival mechanism) and it can be real hard for humans (even vets) to spot when we are in pain.
ReplyDeleteWW
Oh goodness! Bless your little heart Gracie! We are sending you tons of purrs and lots of poodin purrayers that your special leg becomes well enough that you can use it again.
ReplyDeleteLuf, Us
Thank Cod you're better today sweetie! DEEEEPPP PURRRRSSSS
ReplyDeleteKeep off the furniture and behave so you can stay out of the crate. We're glad you're feeling better today and not needing a bunch of pain med.
