NOT! I had to go see Dr. Tad on Thursday. Mom says I was a Nervous Nellie and that I would not stay still for photos. Well, duh!
Since I had brought my good friend Gertrude the green mousie with me, I sent her in to be my proxy. She was a real trooper, too. She did not even mind staying still for some photos. I just love Gertrude ::whispers:: even though she is not even a little bit Pink!
Dr. Tad came in and started the examination. He felt Gertrude's innerds and even listened to her breaths and heartbeats.
Unfortunately, Gertrude did not have any breaths or heartbeats! And she had that golden bell at the end of her tail. I do not have a golden bell at the end of my tail. Dr. Tad was not fooled anymore. I had to step up to the plate, er... pink mat. RATS!
Dr. Tad said I weigh 4.8 pounds, that I tested negative for parasites and all those bad diseases and that I looked JUST GREAT! He was amazed at how well I manage with my Special Leg, and he was truly surprised when he found out for himself that Mom wasn't kidding - it really does not bend at all!
Dr. Tad must've really liked me because he wants to see me again in 3 weeks for my Booster. I think a Booster is an award of some sort, don't you? And 2 months from now he says that I can come in for my Ladygardenectomy. Oh, now that really sounds like fun, doesn't it?! Maybe I can even do a Thursday in the Garden post when I get that award!

Gracie, you are a beautiful, silly kitty!...Sorry the Gertrude ruse didn't work, but it looks like you were very good at the vet!...xo...Calle, Halle, Sukki
ReplyDeleteYou did so well at the vet :). And I love all the photos. We have two friends here that look exactly like Gertrude. One of them lost her golden bell because Flip bit it off. Ouch.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day! :)
You were so brave at the v-e-t-s. Shame he didn't fall for the mousie trick!
ReplyDeleteGracie, you have every right to be a Nervous Nellie when you visit the vet. I am too, although Eric just flops down and lets him get on with whatever he has to do.
ReplyDeleteWe are sorry the ruse with Gertrude didn't fool him for too long, but we are glad you got a good report.

It was a very good plan to send Gertrude out in your place. I might try that when I have to go in for my next booster. Hey, maybe we could try using our brothers! They don't have bells on their tails!
ReplyDelete-Lishy.
That is a good idea Gracie. I will send Bazza in my place next time I have to go to the vet.
ReplyDeleteA booster is definitely a very special award, just for kittens!
ReplyDeleteWe're impressed that your vet actually had a pink mat. Gracie! That sounds like a really good vet to us!
WOW! Wot a good idea sending a substitute to the vets! I'm gonna send Alfie, next time I hafta go! Tee hee!
ReplyDeleteGracie, smart thinking about sending in Gertrude as a ruse! I hope your next few visits go as well.
ReplyDeleteWhat a smart girl you are to send in a substitute...too bad figured it out. We're glad you had a good visit. How exciting that you will have your own Garden Post!!
ReplyDeleteSniffie and the Florida Furkids

ReplyDeleteGracie, we're glad your visit to Dr. Tad went well! I hafta go tomorrow and I'm not looking forward to it at all! Can I borrow Gertrude to keep me company??
ReplyDeleteZoey
Gracie I'm glad all went well...Hugs
ReplyDeleteOh sweetie girl, you don't have to wait until your ladygardenectomy to post a garden post on Thursdays!
ReplyDeleteSounds like your v-e-t likes you so much he wants to see you all the time. V-e-ts are usually pretty smart and don't fall for the mousie trick. Good for you for trying anyway.
Purrs to you and especiall to Whitey!
Gracie, we're sorry Gertrude wasn't able to take the heat off for you but.... the stabbies and stuff are important.
ReplyDeleteGracie, what a good girl you were at the vet. You are sooooooooo very brave.
ReplyDeleteWhat brave little girls you were, Gracie and Gertrude! Glad you both got a clean bill of health.
ReplyDeleteOh you and your mommy are just too funny, Gracie! You brought a pink mat and your favourite mousie to the vet!!! Your vet was very nice to test our your mousie first.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the vet did not hurt you at all, and now your mama knows that you are in A-l shape! Isn't that a relief?
I'm sure the vet just adored you, too, and now you're actually looking forward to your gardenectomy -- now that you know each other better. Good stuff!
I did not bring the pink mat with me, Wendy. The Vet Tech just knew I love pink and chose that one special for me. Wasn't that nice of her?
ReplyDelete-Gracie
Maybe yoo should tell Dr Tad about da tempachur in da ear thingy our vet uses...no more things stuck where dey DO NOT belong. Nice try wif da mousie roos. To bad da bell tipped of da vet dat it wasn't really yoo.
ReplyDeleteDr. Tad is smart to see through your clever ruse, Gracie!
ReplyDeleteGracie, I don't think you will be getting an award for gardening.
ReplyDeleteWe think the doc is wrong. You don't look just great, you look absolutely great. But glad to hear you are all fine.
ReplyDeleteYou made our mommy laugh a lot. The picture of Dr. Tad listening for Gertrude's heartbeat is priceless. We are very glad that you are in good health. Yay! We want to congratulate you in advance for your booster "award".
ReplyDeleteNext time you'll have to hire a double to sub for you. You know, one that looks just like you. that will fool the vet.
ReplyDeleteGracie is just a precious little kitty.
