We just got Spammed. Big time. It looks like somebuddy hijacked our gmail email account because they made it look like we sent it. It all got blocked by our filter but we wanted to let you know if you see something that looks like junk and it looks like it's from us - Don't open it, 'cause it's not from us.
Idiots.
So. We set up a new gmail account. We have not deleted the old one yet until we figure out who we need to notify of our new email address.
Spam sux.
UPDATE: We got an alert from Google that an IP address than our own accessed our gmail (from NY) and they STRONGLY SUGGESTED that we change our password, which of course we did immediately. The Florida Furkids told us the same thing happened to them. Maybe everybuddy should change their passwords ASAP!
UPDATE 2: We deleted our old gmail account. Mom says it was creeping her out too much. We don't think it will effect our feeds, but we are having to build a new Reader list. ::sigh::
We just emailed you because we got one. We didn't open it and we will delete it right now.What pleasure do spammers get out of it? They are sad people.

ReplyDeleteIt makes you realise that there are people out there who really don't have anything constructive to do with their time. We have always believed that when such people are caught, they should be punished the medieval way, stocks in the town centre, so that people could actually tell them what they think (and throw rotten tomatoes at them!).

We don't know why we didn't get the alert. Mom checked and we are supposed to get them :( Mom doesn't know if she should delete ours or just start a new one.

Must be something going on. My blog catche smost spam, and it's usually two to five a day. Today it has been over thirtyfive! I hate spam, too! Even the kind in the can!

ReplyDeleteWe did see both emails come in this morning. We did look at them but did not click on the link, thinking it was sent to us in error. We did not consider that it was spam. We are gonna go change our passwords...

That happened to our mum's email a couple of months ago. It was a horrible feeling to know that some scumbag was using her name to send bad things to her friends. Can you imagine what these people could achieve if they put their energies into something positive?!

ReplyDeleteThat stinks that you got hit - we keep wondering if all this stuff is related to the Google password system break in we read about this morning. Google makes it sound like it isn't related but it would explain a lot. We hate that people are so jerky!
