Mom took a burst of photos of Gracie playing all by herself with the Cat Dancer. Gracie moves so fast that they're all blurry... so they're purrfect for an animated gif!

We weren't planning to post today but there were a few questions in the comments in yesterday's post we thought we'd answer.

Whitey's face: Last year when Mom and Uncle Daddy Gotcha'd Whitey he had very nasty injuries and a deep infection on the left side of Whitey's face. Very, very deep. Deeper than hair follicles, so Whitey has a patch of very, thin skin with no furs. Whitey's skin in this area is extremely delicate and therefore very easy to scratch. What you saw in yesterday's video is a minor scratch, which he gets all the time. He's absolutely fine and dandy! Uncle Daddy came over yesterday and as soon as Whitey saw him he meezed and ran to greet him. Whitey is now THE happiest, healthiest, sweetest boy ever. And he loves absolutely everybuddy! Srsly!

Grayson's Creatinine re-test was yesterday. It is now completely back to normal. In fact, Grayson has not barfed since Mom took him to see Dr. Dave last week. Momma says if she had waited about 2 more hours she would've saved a bunch of monies!

Gandalf has been doing very, very well. He's acting like the old Gandalf... before we moved to the Swamp and met Gracie 3 months ago. Mom's almost afraid to say it, but .:whispers:. he has not sprayed anything in about a week. He hasn't had any Prozac in over a month and we've all stopped wearing our Calming Collars.

Gracie has a teeny weeny bump at her incision site. Mom would not even have noticed it except Gracie was all stretched out in Momma's lap. Dr. Dave says it is common to have a reaction to the dissolving sutures and not to worry about it unless it's still there in 30 days, or if it gets nasty looking.

Life is good here at La casa de los cuatro gatos. ¿Cuál es un día sin un poco gris? O blanco.

PS. According to Flickr stats, 54 unique computers clicked on that first photo of Whitey yesterday - you know, the one that was pretending to be a movie. That was a little bit mean of us, huh? hahahaha!

We are all very sorry we can not visit very much lately. Momma has a big bunch of busy right now and we pretty much all jest have to eat, nap and bath and den we all start all over again. Iz terrible here right now.

Momma is calling me the Incredible Skulk now. And she's still laughing and laughing. That is SO not nice, Momma!

Finally Friday with Grayson

Thank you all for the Power of Purr! I am feeling much better, and I am sure it is thanks to all of you purring for me!

I have not vomited since Dr. Dave gave me the shot. Yesterday Mom called Dr. Dave to ask about the Mirtazapine. He says in cats it is effective for anti-vomiting as well as an appetite stimulant. So I will get a tiny piece of a pill every 3rd day. It's better than vomiting. And that's all I can say about that.

Grayson Update

The Gray Boys Nip Out

Mom and Whitey did an update on Facebook yesterday after Dr. Dave called Mom with the test results late yesterday afternoon, but we thought we'd also update the blog for those of you not on Facebook.

Dr. Dave ran a bunch of Blood Tests, mostly looking for Kidney problems (CRF) or Infection. His Creatinine (secondary Kidney function level) came back elevated and will be repeated in a week.

All his other levels were mostly normal with a few either slightly high or slightly low.

• slightly low White Blood Count (4.4)
• slightly high Hematocrit (46.6)
• high Creatinine (2.04)
• slightly high Total Cholesterol (180) although triglycerides were normal (49
• slightly high Protein (7.6)
• slightly high Albumen (4.1).

His X-ray was normal, although Dr. Dave did point out that if it is indeed a hairball, that would not show up in an X-ray because the X-ray can't see furs.

Dr. Dave says the Creatinine is barely high and may still be nothing to be concerned about, but that is why we're repeating it.

He also was a bit concerned because Grayson has lost almost a pound (14 ounces) since his Annual on Feb 2nd. (You'd think he'd be happy because he wanted him to lose that pound and Mom has been carefully measuring the foods!)

Dr. Dave gave Grayson an injection that lasts 24 hours for the Vomiting (.5 ML Cerenia). That has worked beautifully! Yay! We hope Grayson doesn't start vomiting again when that wears off (about 4:00 today).

Dr. Dave also prescribed Mirtazapine that is broken into small pieces that Mom needs to give him once every 3 days. Mom googled it and read it is usually given as an appetite stimulant. After reading about it Mom is going to call Dr. Dave and question why he wants Grayson to take Mirtazapine because Grayson's appetite has been fine... it's just that since Tuesday he vomited most of it up after eating.

Oh. And by the way... All the moneys that Mom saved last Friday by taking Gracie and Whitey to Florida? Yeah. Well, yesterday Grayson used every bit of that all up! It's a good thing Mom saved it, right? Right!

First off... Remember when mai said we were getting our Birthday present a little bit late but it would be worth the wait?

When we saw Skeezix's post to Own a Peece of the Food Lady we wuz all very a'cited! We knew right away that wuz what we all wanted for our Birthday!



Grayson thinks iz just for him because he got to have his photo done first.



And Gracie thinks iz hers cuz it iz her first Half-Birthday.



Gandalf thinks iz just for him cuz he wuz the first kitty Momma Gotcha'd. But as you can see, iz mine cuz mai am in 2 photos!



We are all thrilled to have this fabulous piece of art made by Skeezix's Food Lady!



If you look close you can even see Skeezix and Jeter and Daisy! Srsly! We are not sure who the other 2 kitties are, purrhaps Mao and Tripper? Maybe Skeezix or the Food Lady will tell us!

Momma says she will have it put into a shadow box so all our furs don't get all over it and ruin it. As if...

Thanks to the Food Lady for making such a cool sculpture, and thanks to Momma for bidding on it and winning the auction for a very cool Birthday gift for me! OK, fine. For us. But mostly me.

And today is also my very first Gotchaversary!

One year ago today mai Uncle Daddy caught me cuz he saw that mai had all of mai face skins hanging off mai face and all of mai furs missing on one side of mai face. Iz not a gud look, kitties. Srsly.

And mai wuz rly stinky and skinny and matted to mai skins all over. So Uncle Daddy and Momma took me to see Dr. Dave.

Mai wuz a rly big mess, kitties! Mai had to have surgery to remove all of mai dead skins and had mai wounds cleaned. And while I was sedated mai wuz also un-matted, de-wormed, de-flea-ed, un-stink-a-fied, un-infection-ated, un-studded and THEN mai had to get all of mai shots. It wuz a lot of des and uns for one day! But it wuz worth it! Cuz LOOK!



Mai feel much better now. And mai am handsome mancat now! Momma says I definitely smell much better now, too! hahahaha!

And nobuddy guessed mai weight exactly right but some of you wuz very, very close! Mai wuz only 9 pounds when mai wuz Gotcha'd, which wuz way too skinny for me. I had the Hungrumblies rly, rly bad!

Momma calls me Widey sometimes cuz mai have gained lots of weight in the last year. She thought mai would be about 16 pounds when they weighed me last Friday on mai Road Trip. But mai wuzn't 16 pounds. Mai wuz 14 pounds 3 ounces. Iz gud, right? Mai likes mai foods pretty gud. =0)

Momma says mai am the purring-est boy ever! Uncle Daddy iz always saying that he can't believe what a great boy mai am! He still can't believe some mean peoples just tossed me outside to fend for maiself.

Now mai loves everybuddy and anybuddy's lap, but 'spechully mai Momma's! All mai know iz that iz rly, rly gud to be Gotcha'd!

And iz rly gud to have so many friends! Thank you all for being mai friends!

Thank you for all your purrs! Gracie is doing very well indeed after her spay surgery. In fact, except for the shaved furs, nobuddy would know she had it done. Momma thinks that she has had so much pain with her Special Leg in her short little life that she likely has a very high tolerance for pain. The only real change we've noticed is that she's finally stopped trilling and chirping, and for that we are ALL truly grateful! =0)

Oh. And she's gained 2 more ounces! She is up to 5 pounds, 4 ounces now! She packs a lot into that tiny little body! Gracie manages Mancat Manor with a swift swat and a mighty hiss, like you would not believe!

Whitey's weigh-in really surprised Momma because she was betting he was 16 pounds. But he's not. Any guesses? Find out Wednesday on Where's that Whitey!

Glamor Puss Saturday with Gracie

This is not your average Glamor Puss Saturday.

Yesterday me, Whitey, Sarah and Tucker all had a Road Trip! Mom and Uncle Daddy loaded us all into our carriers in the middle of the night and we drove almost 5 hours to Lakeland, FL, where Mom and Uncle Daddy use to live. You see, Mom was not at all happy with how much my spay surgery was going to cost here compared to what she use to pay in Florida. So off we went, because Mom does not enjoy spending more than needs to be spent.



Fashion Note: While I DO have a very pretty Pink mat in my carrier, the cone head look is not my favorite.



I was a very good girl. The people at the Lakeland SPCA could not have been nicer. Whitey was also very nice to me. This photo of Whitey and me was back at my hotel. It was taken after Mom and Uncle Daddy came to pick me up. Whitey just snuggled up on the bed "sort of" next to me and we took a nice nap before we all got loaded back into the van for the trip home.

Whitey had his annual and both of us also were microchipped. My cousins Sarah (above) and Tucker also came along because they needed their annuals, too. Momma says she saved a ton of money AND got us all the protection we need and deserve, so even though it was a very loooong, day, it was well worth the trip!

Note: Sarah is Gandalf's litter mate sister. Their other litter mate, BooBoo, already had his annual so he got to stay home, as did Cousin Cosmo and my brothers Gandalf and Grayson. This time.

We made a little Slideshow of the day, if you would like to see them. Mom only brought her iPhone, but they aren't too bad for snapshots.

Oh! And guess what? We even saw real live cheezburgers!

Where's that Whitey?

Here mai iz. Mai iz waiting to see what "Getting mai Annual on Friday" means. And wut iz "Road Trip"?

Mai did hear that Gracie iz having her Ladygardenectomy and that mai cousins BooBoo and Sarah need their Annuals, too. And wut iz Hotel and why duz mai need dat?

Mai thinks dis can not be gud. Srsly.
