Frenemies on Finally Friday

Primo Perch

Even sworn Frenemies can behave nicely given the right motivation. This window is only open for an hour or so every morning, before it gets TOO HAWT! We MUST SEE what is going on on THIS SIDE of the house!

Whitey

Mai do not know why Grayson does not love me. Srsly.

Calm. We has dat.

Mom Barb here. I wanted to follow up with a final word on the Calming Collars. I am a fan!

Many of you will recall what a stressful time it was for me and the cats back in February when we moved from the Yellow house to the Swamp. Adding to the stress of the move was introducing Gandalf, Grayson and Whitey to Gracie. Gandalf started spraying and Whitey sprayed a few times. They were all hissing and growly and I was constantly cleaning.

In a word, it was dreadful!

I reached out in sheer frustration and you all responded and offered some wonderful suggestions. I can't tell you how much your words of encouragement helped, and I am sure I tried all of the suggestions!

I am thrilled beyond belief to tell you that there has been NO SPRAYING in over 2 months! Sheer Bliss!

What I want to share with you now is what IMHO were THE 2 most successful things I did:

  • I used the Calming Collars on ALL of them for 2 months. I thought it would help if they all sort of smelled the same. And of course, I want them ALL to be calm! I know some people mentioned that they found the Lavender scent somewhat offensive, but I rather liked it.
  • At the end of May I had Stanley Steamer come out to the Yellow house to shampoo my carpets and treat them with their Enzyme Treatment. They guarantee the Enzyme Treatment to work after 48 hours or they re-treat. Let me tell you, that was the best $10 I've ever spent! The product they use is called Odor Out Plus. I bought a 32 oz. bottle of the Odor Out Plus for around $18.00. I started using it wherever they sprayed. It took less than a week... NO MORE SPRAYING!  The best $18.00 I've ever spent! It didn't take much of it at all either. In fact, I still have about half a bottle left. I spray a light mist on the carpet after I vacuum, just because it smells nice and fresh. A friend of mine just ordered some so I added a bottle to his order just to have it on hand. You can order it online at the link I gave above or if you happen to see a Stanley Steemer truck you could flag them down and buy it off the guys in the truck! =0)
Oh.. And it doesn't smell icky. (I went through several gallons of Nature's Miracle Advanced and I hated how that smelled - not to mention the fact that it didn't help at all.) The Odor Out Plus scent is sort of like baby powder. Very faint, very pleasant. And it sure beats the heck out of Cat Urine smell, let me tell ya! I am a huge fan of Odor Out Plus!

This is blurry.. sorry, but it was the only one I took with all 4 of them in it. Calm. It's a beautiful thing!

Did you all just hear that angellic "L-a-a-a-a-ah"?

So You Think You Can Cat Dancer with the DailyGs?

Plays well with others.

One of Whitey's attributes is his ability to put every one around him at ease. His sweet temperament and adorable meez is even starting to work on Gracie!

Well, its actually working on everyone but Grayson. Grayson continues to be able to resist all the charms of Whitey. He's Whitey-proof.

Mom Note: As soon as Whitey hears the camera he runs to it and meezes at me. I actually have to turn on the camera in another room and hope he doesn't hear it!

Fairy Tails Can Come True!

Patches has found a Forever Home! Yay! Yay! Yay! A very nice couple and their 3 daughters took her HOME yesterday! They were very sad because their older kitty had to leave for the Bridge.

We know Patches will help patch the hole left in their hearts.

Be very, very happy, Patches!

Patches needs a home before the end of July

Patches on the patio ledge

She wandered into our neighbors garage about 3 weeks ago. She is about 10-12 weeks old, at their best guess. What a little purring, loving machine she it, too! She definitely has that Tortie Attitude - or Tortitude!

She's very sweet, but they can't keep her. They've been talking to everyone in the neighborhood, at church and at work trying to find a new home for her. They are going on vacation at the end of the month. If they can't find her a home by then they will have to bring her to Animal Control.

We do not have a No Kill Shelter here, so we need everyone in the Cat Blogosphere to help get the word out!

Blog it, Tweet it, Digg it, Facebook it... Whatever way you can think of to get the word out, please!

email Mom if you want to adopt Patches, or if you can Foster her until she finds a home.

Bloggers Cruise 4

Dear everybuddy,

Mom is leaving us on February 27th, 2011 for a whole week to go on a cruise to the Eastern Caribbean. It is aboard Carnival Glory with Cruise Director John Heald and a bunch of Momma's blogging friends and even more bloggers she hasn't met yet, of course!

Mom wants us to ask you all if your Mommy and Daddy would like to join her and all the other bloggers for a week of doing all sorts of fun stuff and getting to meet each other in person. Mom says it will be SO COOL to meet all of your Mommys and Daddys!

Bloggers Cruise 4:

Of course, that means we'll all be left home - to have our Nana and Grampy spoil us!

If anybuddy's Mommy and Daddy is interested in cruising on the Bloggers Cruise 4 and having Tons O'Fun, email Mom!

Gracie talks

Gracie talking, originally uploaded by WillThink4Wine.

The geese are right in front of the patio and Gracie is chittering and talking to them.

Still, they ignore her.
