2011 - Chapter 031, Part Deux

With all of the excitement of Ya-Ya name bestowings, Tiaras and all the talk of cruising with royalty, Gracie was having a bit of a pout. She wanted her own Ya-Ya name.

Her choices:

  • Marchioness Get Off Your High Horse
  • Countess Flying Leaf
  • Countess Lost in the Clouds
  • Queen Young Chicken
  • Marchioness Rising Sun
  • Countess Shops Too Much
  • Empress Preening Peacock

So which name did she choose to be bestowed with (y'all)?

May I present to you Her Sometimes Serene, but Always Bossy Royal Self

Empress Preening Peacock

You may curtsey now.

Put some YAY in your day! I know I will! Big Hugs ♥xo

2011 - Chapter 031

Dale Jarrett

My bil Rick emailed the above photo with just the words "guess who?". Apparently Dale was at the same Trade Show Rick was working.

I use to be an avid NASCAR fan. Did you know that about me?

Al and I use to go to both Daytona races every year. I watched every Qualifying, every Practice and every Race. All of those that were televised, that is. That's actually how I ended up switching to Dish Network way back then. My cable company didn't televise all of the Qualifying on certain channels. AVID.

Dale Jarrett was always my favorite driver. I loved his Dad so I started paying attention to him from the git go. He's now retired and is announcing for ESPN half of the season and is most likely golfing the other half. His golf game was good enough to become a pro golfer (I think his handicap is a 2) but he just loved racing too much. He decided to follow his bliss and thereby also followed in his Dad's footsteps (Ned Jarrett). He was also good enough to win 3 Daytona 500's (I was there for every one of them!) and he also won the Winston Cup Championship in 1999. And he's smart, super nice and pretty dang cute, too. A weird factoid... DJ's birthday is the same as my ex-husband's.

I stopped watching NASCAR about 6 years ago. The 'all about the money attitude' completely ruined it for me. I still watch the Daytona 500, and just a very few select races during the season, but the thrill is definitely gone for me.

And after tripping down memory lane... while I was actually typing this post, Rick emailed me another photo with just the word "Yummy".

Rick's famous homemade Ravioli - THE BEST Ravioli on the planet!

OMG!

I replied back.... "You're KILLING me here!"

Put some YAY in your day! I know I will! Big Hugs ♥xo

2011 - Chapter 030

Splendid Night Tiara

Ya-Ya! I, Duchess PMS, have ordered myself a new tiara! Isn't it purty? It's got lots of genuine fake diamonds! I have 2 tiaras but my favorite, although only about 5 years old, is all broken and badly tarnished. That just will not do! (My other tiara is a bronze-ish one, and I deemed it not quite festive enough for our cruise.)

Sandee asked where I got my tiaras and mentioned that she really isn't much of a Princess. Turns out, she's just very humble. According to the Ya-Ya Name Generator her name is Princess Because-I-Said-So! I just LOVE that name, don't you?!

So just for fun, I did a few more:

  • barb gretter – Duchess PMS
  • Sandra Clark – Princess Because-I-Said-So
  • Bonnie Cordle - Empress Still Night
  • Linda Orlomoski - Countess Smiling Coyote
  • Sandy Bell - Countess Sitting Turtle
  • jean foster - Princess Shake-n-Bake (bwahahahaha!)
  • Patti Villers - Countess Snuggles Like Spoons

See... even the Ya-Yas knew Miss Bee is an Empress! Miss Bee, you must switch to all lower case letters when you cruise and become Queen of the Ship because in all lower case your name becomes Queen Works-Like-a-Dog!

If you want to play with the name generator, it makes a difference whether you capitalize, enter your first-last, first-middle-last, first-maiden-last... etc. So if you don't care for what it generates, change how you enter your name.)

Oh, and in case you were wondering... the SisterDears have had our Ya-Ya names since the movie The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood first came out, or whenever the web site first went up. Here are the SisterDear's and MotherDear's:

  • Lynda - Empress Big Hair
  • Janice - Viscountess Runs-with-the-Bulls
  • Tina - Queen Crescent Moon
  • MotherDear - Princess All That

Don't forget to put some YAYA YAY in your day! I know I will! Big Hugs ♥xo

2011 - Chapter 029

Happy First Birthday, Miss Megan! I know your day will be full of wonderful things!

And for the rest of us who are not having a birthday today, welcome to the weekend! I'll be over at Al's new house, checking to see how our neighbor did on the exterior painting yesterday. I had my hands full at the office and Al and Barbara had some errands to run so we all took the day off from house renovations. My back was pleased, I can tell you that for sure!

As I write this, I'm still not sure what to expect for today other than I need to order some new sandals for the cruise... and perhaps a new Tiara!

Be blessed, y'all! Big Hugs ♥xo

2011 - Chapter 028

This one isn't near as Ugly as the first two, but I'm just not a big fan of salmon colored houses. As you can see, all of the lawns here in south Jawjah are dormant right now. Except my neighbor Mike's, that is. He puts out hundreds of pounds of Winter Rye and has THE greenest lawn I've ever seen. Freakishly Green. But he loves it and it is beautiful. It just makes all of the rest of our lawns look that much deader. I feel a little bit bad for him as he has to look out his windows and see my lawn while I get to look out and see his. :D

I finished up the 2nd coat of primer cut-in on the Blue Bedroom yesterday. Just having a nice, bright white on the walls makes it look SO much better already.

Yesterday our neighbor got the outside of the house pressure washed and today he starts spraying the exterior paint. The house currently is painted a different Yellow than what is on my Yellow house, but I hate it equally as well. Al chose the same paint he had on the house he just sold - a khaki tan for the main house color, white trim and black shutters. It will look great when it's done.

There's more painting ahead in my day and weekend. I hope yours has something fun in it! Big Hugs ♥xo
