Whitey still has not started eating, at least not more than a few nibbles at a time and certainly not as much as he needs. For the first time I am really afraid he may not survive this. I had him at the Vets Saturday and he had lost another .6 pounds just since Monday. Dr. Tad gave me an appetite stimulant, Mirtazapine, to give him every 3 days... which means I can't give it to him again until tomorrow, not that it seems to have done any good. I'll email Dr. Tad this morning and see what he says about the feeding tube.
In brighter news, we had out of town extended family up this weekend. Whitey totally enjoyed this little one, and so did we all! Her Mom allowed me to give her her very first lollipop!
She gave it the Natalie Seal of Approval.
It was a Cherry DumDum, in case you were wondering.
So it's Monday again and it's back to taking orders and trying to get Whitey to eat. Have yourselves a lovely day. I'm sure gonna try.
Whitey, we did not know you had been so poorly. We are sorry that you have this nasty Mycoplasma Felis thing going on and we are sending you enormous rumbly purrs to shift the boogers and revitalise your appetite. Sending love to your Mom too

ReplyDeleteUPDATE: 11.55 - Just talked to Dr. Tad. I'm bringing him in in a few minutes. He'll have surgery at 2 to put in the feeding tube and will be spending the night. I'm so worried. This is the last thing we can do. Praying it works.
