Here's some cupcakes.
Red Velvet with Peppermint frosting.
Feel free to skip this next part. :)
So Dr. Tad has been on the phone some more with his feline expert colleague about Whitey.
All along Dr. Tad has been throwing it out there that this Mycoplasma Felis crap could just be a secondary condition to something more sinister. I can't wrap my mind around that because, well. Just because. Plus the cost is ridiculously high and out of the question. We're talking a referral to Shands in Gainesville, FL for MRIs and stuff like that. Thousands and thousands of $$ for potentially a life-ending diagnosis without treatment. Not gonna happen.
Well... All of that background to say that when I picked up Whitey on Tuesday Dr. Tad threw another thing out there. Feline Cryptococcosis... a Fungus. Dr. Tad said if the feline expert said it once he said it a dozen times.
He also said the test is only about $100. Only? At this point, only and a dollar sign do NOT belong in the same sentence as far as I'm concerned!
I mostly mention this so I can have a record of it on my blog. You can stop holding your ears and shouting "lalalalalalala, I can't hear you" now.
I opted NOT to do the test. At least not now. We'll see what the future brings.
I need a cupcake. But I made those when my Dad came home from his surgery. In December. Calorie-free, fat-free and carb-free to look at the photo!
So I'm just pretending I just finished eating one. :)
I feel better now.
Have yourselves a YAYful day. And me, too!

cupcakes????? *thud*

Poor Whitey and poor Momma, as I've sad before.
ReplyDeleteIt must be so stressful to have a sick cat. Keeping fingers crossed that Linus stays as healthy and obnoxious (!) as he is now.

ReplyDeleteohferpitysakes. no matter what, we loves an' supports you an' the g-brood!! (HUGS)
ReplyDeleteHave you thought of allowing Whitey's friends to contribute directly to his account at Dr.Tad's?
ReplyDeleteWhitey remains in our prayers and in our hearts.
Good momma, we know you are giving Whitey the bestest love and care reasonably possible. Where to draw the line? Common sense, which you have, and careful watching, which you always do, will keep Whitey ticking as long as possible. Period.
ReplyDeleteAnd now for some lovely orders. Big hugs, honey...
Damn woman, make yerself a big ol' pile of cupcakes and have a couple - you more than deserve them what with all the stress you've been going through!
ReplyDeleteI think taking the 'wait and see' approach at this point is a good idea. As long as Whitey is doing well with the feeding tube and the current medications he's on then I think it's safe to wait.
Oh and I see you have countdown timer over there to the right - very nice! But dangit, we're still in triple digits!
Hugs momma G. I second what Sandy said. Hope today is another good order day... and be sure to take care of yourself during all this crud, dear... We all need you around.
ReplyDeleteHugs!
I'm praying for Whitey something fierce. Poor baby. You both have been through a lot.
ReplyDeleteThe cupcakes look really good. I took two, one for me and one for Zane.
Have a terrific day. Big hug and lotsa lovies and scritches to all the babies, especially Whitey. :)
They do look yummy. Well, except the peppermint icing (ick!). Give me cream cheese icing anyday!
ReplyDeleteAnd hugs regarding Whitey. Hopefully it works out.
I have these strange and weird things the vets tells us the cats have! Purrs to you and WHitey and go make some cupcakes!
ReplyDeleteWell damn! We will just keep purring our hearts out for Whitey to get better on his current regimen. And we will purr for some big orders for you!
ReplyDeleteIf I lived closer, I would bake you cupcakes immediately.
ReplyDeleteMum says those cupcakes look delicious! We are keeping the purrs going for Whitey.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Kari. I'd be willing to donate towards Whitey's treatments.
